The reason why stress is such a large problem in our society is that a lot of times we don’t even realize it when we are feeling stress and this disguised stress slowly builds up until it reaches really high levels where it becomes truly unbearable. When you are aware of your stress levels you can stop your stress levels from rising immediately and make sure it never gets really bad.
One of the easiest ways to be aware of your stress levels is to be in the now and put all of your focus on the task at hand. By doing so you will get several advantages, first of all you will do a lot greater job with the task at hand, second of all you will be able to stop any negative thoughts in their track and last but not least it is quite hard to get stressed when you are completely in the now. Stress is something that occurs mostly in the future and therefore you can eliminate it completely by being as present as possible at all times.
The next thing you can do is to build certain rituals into your day. The task of these rituals is to give you a break from your hectic everyday life and allow you to relax and recharge your energy levels. Some great rituals you can incorporate into your everyday life is 15-30 minutes where you pamper yourself and just relax, start going to meditation classes or just meditate at home, take a long and nice shower, take a power nap in the middle of the day or go and do something you enjoy that relaxes you completely.
Even though these breaks aren’t that long, they will really make a huge difference in the long run and after starting such rituals you will immediately feel the difference yourself.
