These days stress is becoming a common problem that many people experience. Everyone will experience some form of stress in their lives because it is natural. In certain circumstances stress is good for us as it helps us to stay alert in moments of danger and it also helps to motivate us to achieve our goals. However, stress or overstress can become a serious problem when it is caused by situations that we cannot cope with. This can involve pressure at work or even in the home due to family commitments and responsibilities.
When people find themselves in situations of high stress they revert to coping mechanisms that can include overeating or drinking too much alcohol. A side affect of being over stressed is feeling tired and exhausted and many people use caffeine to perk themselves up.

Caffeine taken in moderation does not pose a health problem, actually it can be good for you. However, when it is taken large quantities it can become unhealthy. Drinking too much caffeine can increase the levels of the stress hormone catecholamine.
Caffeine is not only found in coffee as it is also found in chocolate, cola drinks, and energy drinks.

When taken in large quantities it can elevate our stress levels and this can be made worse when we experience a stressful situation. Caffeine increases our heart rate and over time if it continues can overwork the heart. If you have an underlying heart problem then this can lead to serious health complications in the future.

Although, caffeine can improve alertness and concentration it can affect our sleeping patterns especially if it is consumed late in the evening. When taken in large quantities caffeine can affect our digestive system by over stimulating the production of stomach acid. Over time this can lead to indigestion, acid reflux and stomach ulcers.

There is also some medical research that links large consumptions of caffeine to an increase in blood cholesterol especially during times of stress. If this is combined with eating an unhealthy diet that is high in saturated fats with little to no exercise this can lead to serious health complications.

Vastu Vidya; that aspect of Maharishi Sthapatya Veda that contains the complete knowledge of the design and structure of building in harmony with Natural Law. Such a design promotes positive, evolutionary influences and success in life. To create an ideal Vastu (a building design according to Natural Law) one must consider the many items that determine auspicious and inauspicious influences. Some of these items include: orientation of the building, the placement of rooms, the proportions and Vedic measurements, the slope and shape of the land, exposure to the rising sun, location of nearby bodies of water and the buildings or activities in the nearby environment.

Proper Orientation or Direction– Orientation is determined by the path of the sun. Each direction has its specific quality and relevance. To orient a building toward a certain direction brings the qualities of that direction to the building and its inhabitants. When one is facing east, the brain physiology functions differently than when one is facing north, south, or west. According to the latest research in neuroscience, brain cells fire according to orientation. The firing patterns of neurons in the thalamus of the brain are altered according to the direction one is facing. This alteration influences every aspect of brain functioning and the entire physiology. This natural tendency of the brain to function with reference to direction is the same law of Maharishi Sthapatya Veda that guides the structuring dynamics of creation and the proper orientation of a home or office. The main entrance of such a building faces due east because this direction has the very desirable influences of enlightenment, affluence and fulfillment. The other three cardinal directions also have their corresponding influences. The west direction for example has the influence of poverty and lack of vitality and creativity. The north direction has the influence of prosperity and happiness and the south direction has the influence of negativity, problems and suffering. Although it is not commonly known, many misfortunes and even diseases arise from lack of proper orientation of homes and buildings. For example, according to Maharishi Sthapatya Veda architecture a south facing entrance is inauspicious and brings negative influences to the inhabitants of the building.

Proper Placement– This is also an important principle to consider. Everything in nature has its right place, whether moving or immovable. When the kitchen, dining room, living room and bedroom are in their proper places, Natural Law becomes more supportive to the cycle of the daily activities performed there. As the sun moves across the sky, it radiates different qualities of energy that produce specific influences in different parts of the house. In Maharishi Sthapatya Veda architecture buildings are designed so that these energies correspond to the specific activities performed within the different rooms of a building. In a home for example the dining room is located where the digestion will be most healthy and the study is located where the intellect will be most lively. In this way the cause of stress which otherwise might give rise to some discomfort or disease is eliminated. When a house for a particular individual is being planned, the placement and dimensions of the rooms as well as the length, width and elevation of the building are individually calculated using the ancient mathematical formulas of Vastu Vidya of Maharishi Sthapatya Veda. These Vedic formulas take into consideration, among other factors, the relationship of the house owner, with the sun, moon, planets and stars to ensure a perfect resonance between the Cosmic structures and all components of the house. The style of the house, it should be noted, is designed according to the local traditions, and the owner’s individual tastes and/or requirements.

Proper Proportion– The supreme rule for proper proportion is symmetry. Symmetry is perfect orderliness and in a symmetrical system every part is aware of its position in relation to any other part. In this way the wholeness is never lost. Everything in Nature is proportioned according to its function. Just as the human body is precisely proportioned so, too, there is an ideal proportion for every room in a home or office. Maharishi Sthapatya Veda architecture takes advantage of these Cosmic proportions reflected in the individual proportions of the human physiology and applies them to a building’s structure. By incorporating this knowledge into each aspect, a Maharishi Sthapatya Veda architect brings rhythm, harmony and glory to every feature of the building.

I have visited many Maharishi Sthapatya Veda buildings in several states around the USA. Each time I am impressed anew with the silent and settled feeling in these structures. My emotions automatically feel better and thinking becomes happier and more profound. On a few occasions I have spent several days living one of these MSV homes and sleep is deeper and more restful. I hope that soon I too will be living in one full time so I can have the universe in my living room and enjoy increased health, happiness and good fortune it provides.

*Maharishi Vedic Architecture is an ancient science of architecture and building that has been revived by Maharishi Mahesh Yogi the founder of the Transcendental Meditation program.

Anxiety is a feeling of nervousness and apprehension that leads to tension, fear and a variety of physical problems. People with anxiety often have a hard time coping with stress and might find themselves constantly stressing over even minor things. If left untreated, anxiety can take a toll on your quality of life.

Because anxiety is such a problem, people are always looking for new ways to deal with it, without taking medication. There are many natural methods that can help reduce the impact of anxiety. Getting involved in a hobby is a particularly effective way to beat anxiety. The key is to find something that you truly enjoy doing so that you feel renewed and relaxed when you’re done!

Finding the Right Hobby

It is important to find a hobby that fits into your lifestyle. This means that it should be something that you’re interested in and have enough time to do on a regular basis. It also has to be something that is within your means. Finding a hobby that works for you is critical to long term anxiety reduction.

Some hobbies sound great, but just won’t work in your life. Learning to fly a plane might sound like fun, but it is an expensive and time consuming hobby. Woodworking can be a rewarding hobby as well, but it takes time, money and space to get set up to do it right. Pick wisely and you’ll get find that a hobby can be a rewarding way to spend time.

Look for Classes and Join Communities

One of the best things about learning a hobby is that you get the chance to meet others with similar interests. This can lead to new friendships and give you a support system. Taking a class is the perfect opportunity to both learn and mingle. And, taking lessons reduces frustration since you’ll be guided through the learning process by an expert.

You can look for classes at the library, many offer classes or bulletin boards where classes are advertised. There are also many online communities where people talk about special interests.
Now that you’ve found the right hobby, you have to find time to enjoy it! This can be very hard for people that are already juggling work, kids and relationships. With all of the things we have to do, making time for something else can seem impossible. It is essential, however, that you make room in your life for your new hobby.

Make an appointment with yourself for hobby time. This could mean signing up for a class or just penciling it into your day planner. Even if it’s just an hour a week, you’ll still receive stress reducing benefits. And, if possible, include your family; it’s a great way to spend quality time together.

Anxiety disrupts your life in many ways. It leads to headaches, stomach pain, insomnia, teeth grinding…but it also keep you from living life to the fullest. Luckily, you don’t have to live with anxiety even one more day. Pick up a hobby and let all that stress just melt away!

Beat Office Stress with Visualization Exercises

When you’re working, it’s expected you will experience some kind of stress. After all, you have plenty of sources: demanding boss, office politics, deadlines, revisions, projects, and a whole lot more. It becomes more severe when you’re a family person, as you need to take care of your spouse and children after your time at the office.

However, a lot of people experience more negative stress than the others. More than 25 percent are experiencing physical signs, such as headaches, fatigue, muscle tension, appetite loss or gain, and loss of libido. Around 72 percent, meanwhile, develop mental issues such as anger, anxiety, depression, and energy loss. Some will also acquire sleeping disorders such as insomnia.

It’s not surprising that a good number will develop bad working habits such as absenteeism. Others would just quit their jobs out of burnout.

It’s very important for a person to learn to deal office stress the best way possible, one devoid of any medication or other conventional treatment. A very good method you may want to consider doing is visualization.

What is visualization? It’s a process where you create images or scenarios in your mind. The purpose of these scenarios is to, first, address the problem; second, to determine the best course of action; and third, to improve quality of life by means of subliminal messages, which you can tap anytime.

How to Accomplish It

If you want to do visualization, here are some of the steps you need to take:

Find the best time to do it. Visualization doesn’t have to happen at night or in the morning. Determine the best opportune moment. However, it’s recommended you do so at a time when there’s least noise or distractions, as this procedure requires your full concentration.

Determine the best position. You can lie down or sit on a chair. You can even stand and just close your eyes (this may work well for those who are used to the process). Make sure you’re very comfortable. Any inconvenience can still be distracting.

Close your eyes and breathe in and out. You cannot visualize properly if your mind is very much crowded. Hence, you need to find a way to get rid of worries, including office duties. So close your eyes and take slow and very deep breaths. Feel the vibrations created by the breathing. That will hopefully bring you to the present moment.

Visualize and add subliminal messages. When you’re fully relaxed and your mind is free, you can then start to visualize and feed subliminal messages, affirmations, or auto-suggestions into your subconscious. If you’re starting out, this is a challenge. You may then need the support of materials such as mp3s you can now download online. You can just play the subliminal messages or add them to your iPod. Listen very carefully to the spoken words and allow the music or the sound that goes along with them to make you feel further relaxed.

To guarantee you can take full advantage of the benefits, do visualization exercises as regularly.

If you are planning to have a baby soon or you already have a baby around the house, than you should likely be aware of the balls of energy that they can be. The best way to contend with this, is to keep your budding infant or toddler occupied with good activities and exercise. The best of both of these worlds would be present in a baby bouncer.

You should realize that there are plenty of points to consider when it comes to devices in question here. When it comes to the paragraphs of this particular article, you are going to be getting a pretty good introduction to the bouncers themselves and why you might want to check one out for your child.

When it comes to this product, there are likely some people out there that are not entirely sure what is being discussed. With that being said, you should start with a product introduction. This is basically an elevated seat that allows your child’s feet to still touch the floor. This allows them to bounce as they play with some of the different toy-like activities set up around the seat.

To further elaborate on some of these activities would actually be a little difficult to do. The reason being, that every company makes different models of these seats that are themed in various ways. So to say certain activities would be fruitless, as your particular model might not have those activities. You really have to look to see which sets of these your child would care to play with the most.

You should also realize that you have a lot of these seats to choose from. This is because there are plenty of different companies making them, and they are a very popular purchase for children worldwide. So look at the reviews people have concerning anything you are considering buying.

If you are now considering why you might want to get one of these for your little one, you can look at it from a number of different angles. The first of these being that children need exercise, and this seat provides them that. Children need productive means to occupy their time, which through some of these activities they will be able to do all that while improving their coordination, problem solving and cause and effect outcomes.

When it comes to whether or not you should purchase a baby bouncer, that is an answer that only you could provide. There are plenty of different benefits to the product, but you should really pay attention to what your child is into versus what is available. Remember that in whatever you decide, your child’s feelings, creativity, fun and happiness should be a primary concern.

Monster in the closet
The fear of your own feelings is like having a monster in the closet, and you know it. You build your life walking around the closet in fear of opening the door to face it. The fear of what is in there is far stronger than the real monster, the feelings inside.

If you do open the door and face the feeling, “your monster” you will experience that the monster seam very small and insignificant.

Get your energy back
You need to go into your feelings and feel them on a regular basis and in that way release the tension that is built up. You will find that you get more energy in your life as it takes an enormous amount of energy to keep feelings suppressed.

Now you will free up this energy and have access to more creative parts of yourself. Your fears disappear and you can do things that you before wouldn’t dare doing and have wonderful experiences of love instead of fear.

How do you avoid your fears?
A common way of avoiding feelings is to drink alcohol or take some soft drug like a sleeping pill before going to sleep. The time before sleep, is the time when strong emotions and anxiety tend to come up. This is maybe the only time during the day when you don’t distract yourself with activities, so this would be the only time when you could feel.

The numbing of a drug or sleeping pill takes away the anxiety and helps you to suppress your feelings even more, leaving you bottled up like a pressure cocker.

There are many excuses for taking drugs like, “I am bored”, “I have nothing else to do”, “I don´t want to think”, “I don’t care, it doesn’t effect me”, “I just want to relax”. The main reason is; “I don’t want to feel”.

This is of course our own choice, what we do with our life. Don’t get surprised about why there are so much drama in your life. This is how the majority of the people in all cultures deal with their feelings.
This is also how we allow the society to encourage an elevated work ethic, pushing you to your limits so you then need something to keep the stress down.

The choice is yours
Of course this is not an excuse to continue with the drugs. As a matter of fact, we have the choice to continue this lifestyle and we also have a choice of changing it. In both choices we have to pay the consequences.

When your physical body starts to pay the price of illness, if not before, then you might have to look into starting to heal your feelings.

It would be wonderful if you changed your life before you get ill. Don’t wait until you pushed yourself to your limit. Once your body falls apart there will be no choice anymore. The only way to survive will be to change your life and to heal yourself although at this state it will take a major effort.

Managing stress can almost be a comical task to conquer for some individuals. With the average work week for some adults consisting of well over forty hours, and having to maintain anything above that is somewhat inconceivable. If you have children on top of working a full job, then your odds of being a highly stressed person are greatly increased. To avoid this from taking over your life, you have to work at it and make the impossible balancing act of work and play mesh.

The first rule of thumb is to make your children the priority, always no exceptions. As a parent life is jam packed with challenges, but one that must be held sacred is the time you spend with your children. Sending the little ones off with the nanny or to a day care facility is totally acceptable in order for you to provide for your children. What is not acceptable is taking them home and plopping them in front of the television and not engaging with them when you have the time to do so. They are eager to tell you about the events of their day, they want have family meal times and they without a doubt want to play with you. This can be in the form of simply watching a video together or walking the dog together, it matters to them and makes their lives feel more balanced.

Another quick way to become a stressed person is by not getting enough activity. Now, you may be apprehensive to get into a fitness program due to the lack of time you may have for it but it is essential. Even if you must take two mornings a week to run around the neighborhood or to attend a fitness class to stay healthy and relieve your body of that overbearing stress. when you are stressed it secretes toxins throughout your body that can bring on more health ailments that are much more impairing than being a little overwhelmed and stressed. Also it is important to spend some time with your spouse or partner during the week. It does not have to be an extravagant evening out on the town, it can be as simple as talking at night after the children are in bed. Encourage your spouse to get involved in the exercise activities you are doing with your children to do them as family and you all can benefit from that. Just as it is important to maintain everyone else in your life, you cannot forget yourself in the equation. Make it a daily occurrence that you give at least fifteen minutes a day to you to focus on something you enjoy that relaxes you. Many parents enjoy a relaxing bath or shower, reading, taking a walk, or sitting outside for a little while. This time is to be not focused on how to get other things done in your life, but to be utilized as time to unwind and be at peace. You will have to work at keeping everything in your routine organized, but to be living a stress free life and gain more time with the ones you love is the joy that life is supposed to bring!

Depression is a mental disorder that can be broken down into two basic conditions. The first is known as “the blues” and is generally less serious. The second condition is clinical depression, also known as major depressive disorder. Clinically, it is characterized by the loss of energy and vigor. The emotional state that accompanies this is devastating; the person feels as though the light has gone out of the world.

Treating depression has been the focus of a huge stream of medical and psychological research over the previous quarter-century. Various causes and treatments for the disorder have been proposed and seem to provide some relief for the patients. Most of the treatments have been focused on the psychological and pharmacological causes of depression, which have been linked to neurochemical abnormalities such as a lack of endorphins. Clinical psychotherapy has also had some success as a treatment depending on the patient.

Not all patients have found success with conventional treatments. The search for relief has led patients suffering from severe cases of depressive disorder to look for relief from alternate sources. In extreme cases, alternative sources of relief have included everything from acupuncture to meditation. Over the past decade or so, research has revealed a surprising source of relief for patients suffering from this disorder: exercise. A 2001 study conducted by Duke University found that exercise is much more effective at treating depression than conventional pharmacological approaches using antidepressants.

There have been other studies done over the years, the most recent one being a study conducted by Jasper Smits at Southern Methodist University in Dallas. Exercise was found to significantly change neurotransmitter systems in the brain in a positive way, which in turn lifted the patient out of depression as the level of endorphins present in the body increased.

Physical activity involving the whole body can provide immediate relief from all kinds of depressive episodes. Some, such as catatonic depressive disorder, are more difficult to treat using calisthenics as the patient is usually immobile and mute. Similarly, manic-depressive disorder, which is also known as bipolar disorder, is difficult to treat with physical exertion because, during the manic phase, the patient is typically hyperactive.

Nevertheless, bipolar disorder can be partially alleviated by engaging in physical activities. Depending on the type of depressive disorder, physical effort may or may not be effective. One thing is clear from the research: physical activity helps patients suffering from depressive disorders on some level.
