Easy Steps to a Healthier You
Many people are making resolutions in their life, many of which are health-related ones like losing weight, stop smoking or join the fitness club. Normally, people set high goals, however setting smaller goals could do more for our health. Setting smaller goals are less overwhelming and easier to fit into our daily routine than big and abrupt change.
Take a closer look at these easy steps to improve your health:
Stop gaining weight because gaining a pound or two every year will make an extra weight.
Take small steps at a time. Use a pedometer to count your daily calories.
Eat breakfast because breakfast eaters tend to weigh less and have better overall diet.
Try switching to whole grain.
Include in your diet plan a green salad every day. Eating a salad with low-fat or fat-free dressing is filling and may help you eat less during the meal. Don’t forget your five cups of vegetables and fruits daily.
Go easy with food that contains a lot of fat. Fat has a lot of calories which can affect your diet. Buy lean meats, eat poultry without the skin, switch to lower-fat cheeses or use a nonstick pan with only a bit of oil or butter when frying.
Take in calcium by including two or three daily servings of low-fat or fat-free milk or yogurt. This is because calcium is good for bones and will help you lose weight.
Try to lose 5 to 10 %o of your current weight. You will have a lot of benefit if you are slim and trim. You will have lower blood pressure, blood sugar, cholesterol and triglycerides.
Try to keep track of your eating habits. You can write down what you eat over the next couple of days and look for any problem. Normally writing the food that you eat down can help you eat less.
These are easy and simple steps to a new you this year and in the years to come.
