Getting to Know Karuna Reiki

What is Karuna reiki? How is it different from or similar with the common and more popular Reiki healing? Where did it come from and what will interested people or “future” practitioners get from the regular practice of this kind of Reiki?

The world knows that Reiki hasn’t been this popular since the first day the Japanese introduced the healing technique into mainstream Japan and eventually into the alternative healing centers of the West. It has become so famous that a lot of variations are slowly coming out and making a name for itself either as another form of Reiki or simply an alternative non-invasive healing technique. There are just too many of these variations that naming all of them would be futile. There is however a few Reiki-like healing techniques that, because of how effective it is, just has to be named.

One of these techniques is Karuna reiki, which is basically a healing technique that means “compassionate action” or elaborately stated is any activity that has for its goal the elimination of the suffering of others; and if you’re wondering what Karuna is it’s a Sanskrit word that both the Hindus and the Buddhists use. It’s in either religion’s vocabulary.

This healing technique is interesting in that it teaches its practitioners that the technique is an unselfish form of treatment and that if a practitioner desires solace and healing, he must be able to give a part of himself in the form of easing the suffering of others. It is this Reiki that molds practitioners to become enlightened individuals. It is this healing technique that tells its practitioners that all people are one; and that true enlightenment means getting rid of such human divisions as race, age, religious affiliation or beliefs, and skin color. Finally, it is this Reiki that teaches its followers that Karuna reiki should be done with love as well as with wisdom.

Classes on this particular form of Reiki are being offered everywhere. Actually, it’s available in every Reiki center now. However, to be able to avail of the classes, one must already be a Master of Reiki or a Teacher of Reiki in general. This is an important requirement that students and hopefuls need to comply with if they want to be able to fully comprehend and grasp the nature and lessons of this specific Reiki healing technique.

This is because being a Reiki Master would mean that you’ve been taught and have probably been practicing the most difficult forms of healing techniques there is to be studied in Reiki. This also means that you are quite capable already in the attunements department, therefore, you must be already be ready for higher levels of attunement sessions. Karuna reiki isn’t for everyone but with patience and with a hopeful heart, one could learn and eventually master it.
