Herbal remedies:
Ginger – Ginger can be found in your local grocery store and it’s a very effective treatment for snoring. You can use it to increase the saliva in your mouth which will coat your throat and prevent snoring. You can eat some grated ginger with honey right before bed, or make ginger tea by steeping ginger root in hot water.
Wild Yam – Wild yam is an herbal supplement that is an anti-inflammatory. It is available in tincture or pill form and is very effective when used with vitamin C.
Eucalyptus – Fresh eucalyptus leaves are a natural herbal cough medicine that can help you breathe easier, which may reduce snoring. Just steep two eucalyptus leaves in hot water, or get dried eucalyptus tea.
Sage – Gargling with sage water can help reduce your snoring. Boil water and then add a small bunch of sage. Boil the water and then cool it down. Strain out the dried sage and gargle with the water.
Aromatherapy remedies: These aromatherapy oils can be used with a diffuser. Try the following mixtures.
Mix 25% bois-de-rose, 25% lavender, 25% cajeput, 15% cubeb and 10% eucalyptus
Mix 20% cajeput, 20% thyme, 20% anise, 20% lavender and 20% juniper berry
Mix 40% lavender, 36% petitgrain and 25% thyme
Mix 50% lavender, 25% allspice, 25% petitgrain
Mix 50% spruce, 25% majoram and 25% lavender
Aromatherapy oils can also be used in mist sprayed on your pillow before you go to sleep.
Mix together 50 drops lavender, 40 drops atlas cedarwood, 30 drops copaiba and 30 drops juniper berry
Mix together 60 drops majoram, 50 drops sandalwood, 20 drops bois-de-rose and 20 drops litsea cubeba
