Having Difficulty Falling Asleep?

I was so obsessed with that game Farmville on FB, that I would stay up until very late in the night. I would end up going to bed only at around 1 am, sometimes 2 am too. Now, I'm bored of that game, so I dont play it any more. However, I'm having trouble falling asleep. Even if I lay in my bed at 11 pm, I do not fall asleep until 1 or 2 am. I have a 1 yr old, so I get tired by the end of the day. No matter how tired I am, I just cannot fall asleep. As a result, I'm getting more and more tired with each passing day, because during the day, I take care of my son (am a stay-at-home mom).
I have hypothyroid and my doc has prescribed me a new dosage as my levels were slightly off. Also, my recent medical showed that I have very low Vitamin D levels for which I have been asked to take some over the counter medication. My other lab results are yet to come.

I seriously am tired of feeling this way. By evening, 4 pm or so, I'm so tired, I just have to lay down. But with my son running around the house, I cannot fall asleep. So I just lay down on the sofa while he runs around.

I will know in a couple of days when my results come as to what the problem is (hopefully), but in the meanwhile just wanted to know if any of you faced something like this. My doc said that once my results are in, he might want me to go for a sleep study….so have to wait.

Suggestion:

These are some things that have worked for me in the past, hot Chamomile tea, a warm soak in the tub with a lavender scented candle or bath oil, read while laying down,Do some exercise, take a benadryl. Some soft mellow music or a cd or tape of, rain, waves or nature sounds can be relaxing. Also, when your little one takes a nap, you do the same. Being an at home full time Mom is hard work. You don't get to clock out after 8 hours. Your on the job 24/7, and it can be frustrating! About the computer, I have to set a timer when I get on for fun, or 3-4 hours will slip by before I know it. Set an allowed amount of time, then force yourself to get off. Good luck
p.s.- I have hypothyroidism and even with medication, I feel sluggish all the time. All I can say there is get used to it.
