Help Your Partner Enjoy a No-snore Night

When your partner keeps you up awake at night with constant snoring, all you can wish for is to have a no-snore night. Muffling the sound by covering your face with a pillow might work for a couple of minutes, but you cannot really sleep with your face covered by a pillow, can you?

When you cannot sleep due to your partner’s snoring, it will make you feel tired and irritable the next day. Moving to another room can be a temporary solution, but it would not be good for your relationship in the long run. Sometimes snoring becomes so disruptive that it becomes a major source of hostility in a relationship.

Acknowledge to yourself that there’s a problem. Waiting for it to go away is useless. The longer you delay facing your problems, the worse it may get. Begin by telling your partner about their snoring. Most snorers are not aware that they snore. What’s more, they are not aware that their partners’ sleep is getting disrupted by the snoring they do on a nightly basis. Don’t play the blame game. Your partner is not snoring on purpose to annoy or aggravate you. Snoring has physiological origins that can be made worse by lifestyle choices. If you want to save your relationship, then address the disruptive snoring issue. Here are some home remedies that will help in giving you a no-snore evening.

Is your partner overweight? If yes, get them started on a weight loss regimen. At the same time, schedule an appointment with your physician to determine the other causes of your partner’s snoring. Make sure that the two of you have a healthy eating schedule with a healthy diet. Choose between three square meals per day or six mini-meals spread out during the day. If possible, lock up your pantry containing snacks and sweets once dinner is over. Make it a house rule that there will be no drinking of alcoholic beverages at night. When it is time to sleep, ensure that the two of you having a proper sleeping schedule as well. Purchase pillows for your partner that will elevate their head while they sleep. Make sure they sleep on their side. Do not let them sleep on their back. If they suffer from nasal congestion, then perhaps nasal strips will work for them.

If these methods do not make things easier, then it is possible that snoring is brought on by physiological causes, such as sleep apnea, deviated septum, among others. Medical intervention is required. Leave it up to your doctor, who will prescribe the necessary treatment, such as surgery, to guarantee the two of you a no-snore night.
