How Can I Make Myself Fall Asleep?

I have insomnia in the worst way. And its driving me and everyone in my house crazy because when they go to sleep like normal people, I stay awake and make to much noise.It's even affecting my performance at work because during the day i'm so tired. I have bags under my eyes which look terrible and my eyes are usually bloodshot red and i'm yawning all the time and its hard for me to focus. My boss must think i'm on drugs. I've tried sleeping pill after sleeping pill but nothing seems to work. Does anyone have any suggestions on how I might be able to fall asleep faster?

Insomnia can be hard to deal with. There are a variety of causes. Also a variety of treatments, all of which work for some people, but none of them seems to work for everybody.
Personally, I have found insomnia to be mostly stress-related. so any way you can relieve stress might help. Exercise, and outdoor activity I have found to be helpful. Best of all is if you can solve the problem stressing you (should there be one).

Try drinking warm milk and taking a warm bath before you go to bed. Don't watch tv when you are in bed. Watch tv in your living room, and when you decide to sleep, only sleep in your bedroom. When you lay on your bed, it should only be for sleeping. It sounds weird, but it's true. Maybe try listening to a spa CD to relax you, or buy one of those "rain, forest" sound makers. They are calming too. You need to be totally relaxed before you sleep, so don't exercise right before going to bed. No caffeine. Hope this helps.

drink chamomile tea… sleepy time extra always makes my family go to sleep, even if my mom can't get to sleep very well for several days. also, foot rubs are nice.
