Living Alongside Anxiety or Panic Attacks

Have you been awakened in the middle of the night with an overpowering sense of fear, but can’t figure out what it is that you are so afraid of? Have you been in the grocer, walking down the aisles, minding your own business, when you suddenly break out in a cold sweat, start shaking, and feel an intense desire to run out of the store as quickly as possible? Do you find yourself troubling unacceptably over things that you use to take in stride? If that is so you could be suffering from tension or panic fits.

It’s said that 4 million people suffer because of this disorder. It is also known as Generalized hysteria disorder. Suffering from unnecessary agitation can not only cause emotional symptoms, but can also steer you to suffer from physical symptoms too. ( Headaches, muscle tension, sweating, nausea, having difficulty sleeping, for example.

The precise cause for fear attacks is unknown. Many factors do seem to contribute to it though. A number of these are genetics, ( relations that be afflicted by it also ), brain chemistry, ( aberrant levels of certain neurotransmitters ), and environmental tensions, for example death of a family member, abuse, divorce, for example. It is commoner in ladies then men, and can begin in childhood, or may not show up until adulthood.

If you suspect that you may be subjected to stress or panic attacks/disorder, it’s best to see your physician as quickly as possible. It can be diagnosed, most likely, by your GP asking you certain questions, not only about your medical history, but also by performing a physical examination. They may base their diagnosis on the power and duration of your symptoms.

Treatment for anxiety abnormalities include medicine, behavior therapy and/or relaxation strategies. Medications ordinarily used to treat anxiety disorders are often employed in a short term manner, and include a class of gear called benzodiazepines. The medicine helps because it tends to help cause you to feel calmer, can relax your muscles, and help with restlessness. Some of the common medicine’s used include Xanax, Valium, Ativan and Librium. It could take a few weeks for these medications to’kick in’. A number of these medicines are addictive, so your doctor should/will watch your use.

It would also be suggested that you try behavior care, in which you learn to recognize what thoughts and behaviors could be leading you into having an anxiety attack. You may be able to learn to change your thought patterns, and learn to have a look at troubles in a more practical way. This should be attempted alone, or with medication.

Anxiety attacks/Panic disorders, can’t be forestalled by’willing’ your mind to stop them, but you can do a couple of things to help control some of the worst symptoms. Try to limit your caffeine intake, exercise each day, eat healthy, and always seek treatment from a professional if you are feeling it is getting beyond control .
